The Alan E. Beer Center for Reproductive Immunology & Genetics helps families grow by researching and treating couples who experience recurrent miscarriages, multiple pregnancy losses or repeated in vitro fertilization failures.

Prices for Tests

Our practice is fee-for-service; we do not take insurance. We understand that the cost of treatments can be quite high and we provide the necessary documentation to our patients' insurance agencies to help gain coverage (see Health Care Coverage for Reproductive Immunology: What Our Program Will and Will Not Do for You. However, please note that there are no guarantees your insurance company will pay for treatment.

It is difficult to give an estimate of the cost for consultation and treatment. This is because we cannot know which treatments will be required prior to testing. In addition, each person's body reacts differently to treatments, thus the length of treatment is variable.

Again, program costs will vary for each patient as treatments are individually based. There are, however, some basic charges you should expect.

  • There will be an initial medical review of your registration materials and medical records. This charge will range from $100 to $300, depending on how extensive the review is, but is typically around $125.

  • Once the review is complete, we will send you a letter for recommended additional testing; prices for testing are often in the range of $2,700 to $3,000 for you and your spouse.

  • Our physicians commonly recommend the following treatments and medications (please note that this is not a complete list):

    • IVIG: each infusion costs about $2,200 to $3,000 (based on weight).
    • LIT: $600 for a one time treatment, plus traveling expenses to Mexico for two.
    • Humira: approximately $1,300 per one month supply.
  • When all the test results have been reviewed, you will be contacted to set up an initial consultation. The initial consultation fee is approximately $600.

  • During the consultation, your plan of treatment will be determined and further charges will be discussed with you at that time.

  • Follow-up consultations are $350.

  • Every-other-month monitoring charge $75.

  • Please note, in addition to charges for tests such as placental immunopathology ($400, patient pays to lab) and/or endometrial biopsy ($300, patient pays to lab), there is also an additional $350 charge for reviewing the test results.

We hope this information helps in your decision making process. Please note that these prices are subject to change without notice. Should you decide to become a patient, you must first register online and send your medical records to us (e.g., blood work that has been done within one year of your registration date, as well as any genetic testing you have had done in your life). Once you have completed your registration, then we will call you with next steps.
